Ingredients

  • 1 can King Cup Spicy Sardines
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 thumb-sized piece ginger, sliced
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1-2 chilies, sliced
  • 1 tsp bagoong, optional
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
  2. Saute garlic, onion, and ginger until fragrant.
  3. Add coconut milk and bring to a gentle simmer.
  4. Add bagoong, if using.
  5. Simmer for 5-7 minutes until the coconut milk slightly thickens.
  6. Add King Cup Spicy Sardines.
  7. Stir gently to keep the sardines in large pieces.
  8. Add sliced chilies.
  9. Simmer for another 3 minutes over low heat.
  10. Season with black pepper.
  11. Serve hot with rice.
