Sardine Misua Soup

Ingredients

  • 1 can King Cup Sardines in Tomato Sauce
  • 1 bundle misua
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten, optional
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • Spring onions, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a small pot over medium heat.
  2. Saute garlic until fragrant.
  3. Add onion and tomato. Cook for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  4. Add King Cup Sardines and gently stir.
  5. Pour in water and bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Let the broth simmer for 3 minutes to blend the tomato sauce with the aromatics.
  7. Add misua and stir lightly.
  8. Cook for 1-2 minutes only, until the noodles soften.
  9. Slowly pour in the beaten egg while stirring gently, if using.
  10. Season with black pepper.
  11. Top with spring onions and serve immediately.
