Sardine Misua Soup

Sardine misua soup is my kind of quick comfort food: warm, light, and easy enough to make even on a busy day. The tomato sauce from the sardines gives the broth an instant savory base, then garlic, onion, and fresh tomato make it taste like it has been simmering much longer than it actually has.
Misua cooks very quickly and continues to absorb broth as it sits, so I always add the noodles near the end and serve the soup right away. A softly streamed egg makes it a little heartier, but it is just as good without one. Finish with spring onions and black pepper for a simple bowl that feels especially good on a rainy afternoon.
